These are amazing pliers. We use them for all our personal jewelry making. They are made from Strong HIGH CARBON STEEL, and the handles are longer and more comfortable than the economy pliers. The plier action is very smooth and comfortable to weave with for long periods. We also find that beginners have greater success with these pliers, as they are easier to manipulate rings-- you have a better grip on them.
We still recommend Tool Magic to protect your rings.
These are a very wise investment. We prefer Xuron to any of the other more expensive specialty pliers.

For Chainmaille we recommend FLAT smooth jaw pliers. Only very tough materials such as large gauge Stainless should you use pliers with teeth. Teeth tend to scratch, scar, and generally damage softer metals.
Wide nose pliers are best for larger gauge and larger rings. Plier size is always personal preference... You would want to use these pliers for armour sizes rings... maybe 18g and larger, and rings 1/4" and bigger. You need one pair for EACH hand to do chainmail.
Pliers $5.00 each pair
Needle Nosed Pliers are best for smaller work. The tips are quite narrow. We use the narrow pliers for 20 gauge rings and smaller. You need one pair for EACH hand to do chainmail.
Pliers are $5.00 each pair.
