The hole is 2mm, which is nice and big to accomodate up to 16g wire!
Small metal Barrel Beads

These are beautifully polished metal barrel beads. They were intended to be the match for the Chain Gang Patterns in Beaded Chain Mail Jewelry, but they are slightly too small. We cannot find the source of the original beads used in that book.These are the replacement from the same supplier.

However, these do work with the pattern, as long as you only use 1 ring to connect, instead of doubling the rings like the pattern suggests.

These beads, imported from the Czech Republic, are machine-faceted, then polished by glazing inside a red-hot oven. This gives them beautiful, glistening colors with a "softer" look and a smoother feel at a considerably lower price than the machine-polished Austrian crystal. Slight imperfections are to be expected and add to the allure of these much sought after beads. Size and shape may vary slightly and color may vary from dye lot to dye lot.
